Kevin Charlebois, CFA - President, Chief Investment Officer and Director
Kevin earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Carleton University (1974) and joined the company in 1975. He has managed investments in Canadian and U.S. stocks, bonds, preferred shares, money market, mortgages, real estate, venture capital, private placements and high-yielding equities since that time. His experience in high-yielding equities dates back to the 1970s with direct, private investments in real estate and mortgages, and in oil and gas properties on behalf of pension fund clients. In addition, Kevin has created and taught finance courses at Carleton University and is past Chairman of the Finance Committee of the School of Business at Algonquin College. Kevin has acted as a Director of the Ottawa-Carleton Board of Trade and Chairman of the Board’s Finance and Taxation Committee, Chairman of the Young Professional Associates, Director of the Foundation of the Ottawa General Hospital and President of the Ottawa Chapter of Financial Analysts. Kevin is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder.
Ryan Cody, CFA - Portfolio Manager and Equity Analyst
Ryan is a portfolio manager with Brookfield Soundvest Capital Management Ltd. In addition to his portfolio management duties, Ryan is responsible for performing detailed fundamental analysis on selected industries providing support to the rest of the management team. Ryan joined the firm in 2000 as an account manager and was subsequently promoted to the position of research analyst in 2006 and then portfolio manager in 2010. Ryan earned both a Bachelor of Social Science degree with a major in Economics from the University of Ottawa and a 3-year Business Administration diploma from Algonquin College. Ryan has also completed the Canadian Securities Course and the Options and Derivatives Fundamentals Course offered through the Canadian Securities Institute. Ryan is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder.
Tyson Charlebois - Equity Analyst
Tyson joined Brookfield Soundvest in 2009 and is responsible for providing fundamental equity analysis in support of the equity investment team. Tyson earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2005. In addition, he has completed the Canadian Securities Course, Wealth Management Essentials Course, Options Licensing Course and Derivatives Fundamentals Course offered through the Canadian Securities Institute. Tyson comes to the firm from TD Waterhouse with five years of experience in the financial services industry and is currently enrolled in Level II of the Chartered Financial Analyst program.

Michael G. Adams - Senior Vice President
Michael brings more than 30 years of experience in financial services to his role as Senior Vice President of Brookfield Soundvest. His responsibilities include marketing, client service and new product development. Prior to joining Brookfield Soundvest, Michael was part of the Private Client Group at Royal Bank of Canada to which he brought a strong background in international, corporate, commercial and personal lending. Before RBC, Michael ran one of the Wealth Management offices of Wachovia Bank in the U.S. Michael began his career in the international division of the Bank of Montreal where he served in various locations in Canada, London, England and in New York City. Michael is Vice-President, Finance and Treasurer as well as a director of the Indo Canada Ottawa Business Chamber (ICOBC). He is also associated with several charities in Ottawa including his role as Vice Chair of the board of directors of The Ottawa Food Bank and a director of the National Gallery of Canada Foundation. Michael is a graduate of McGill University.
Finance and Administration
Garry Skinner - Controller Garry is a graduate of Carleton University (1973). His post public accounting experience ranges from financial reporting to operations management. Garry has served as Controller, Vice President Finance, Vice President Business Development and Vice President Operations with public and private companies in the equipment distribution, shipbuilding and environmental management sectors. He brings a varied perspective to his role having managed parts and service operations, identified and evaluated growth opportunities and restructured business units in addition to traditional financial management and reporting responsibilities. Garry is a Chartered Accountant.
